About ATELIER NOIR

Architecture for people
who treat their home
like it will outlive them.

Aurelia opened in 2018 with one idea: most salons rush you through, and most clients leave wishing they'd been heard. We're slower than that on purpose. Every appointment starts with a real consultation. We ask what you want, what you've tried, what you've hated. Then we build the work.

Six architects on staff. RAIC member firm. We sit with contractors during construction. We site-visit on a schedule. We don't hand you a beautiful drawing and disappear.

Concept consultations are flat-fee. Full projects are percentage-of-build. We don't hourly-bill — clients shouldn't pay for our learning curve.

Master stylists

Six people
worth booking.

Every Aurelia stylist trained in our chair for at least 18 months before working on a paying client. They each have a specialty — ask at booking and we'll match you. Or if you want a generalist, any of them will look after you start to finish.

Are you a licensed architect? +

Yes — Élise is a registered architect with the OAA, and we operate as a licensed practice. All drawings are sealed.

Do you do interior design? +

We do space planning and finish coordination. For fully-styled interiors (furniture, art, textiles), we partner with two local interior designers.

How long does design take? +

Concept: 2-3 weeks. Schematic + design development: 8-12 weeks. Construction documentation: 6-10 weeks. Most full projects take 4-6 months of design before construction.

Do you site-visit during construction? +

Yes — included in our fees on custom-home projects. Permit-only projects can add construction support hourly.

What's your typical project size? +

Custom homes: $800K–$3M. Additions: $150K–$500K. Renovations: $80K–$400K. Heritage: project-dependent.
